Lethal Ape Experience Monster Cue Sheet
Hear it, name the type, spend the right resource. Headphones required.
This sheet is the ear-facing half of the monster roster. It does not name unconfirmed bodies. It names cues and the first move that usually spends the least of your anonymity meter.
Keep it beside the survival checklist. After a death, add a line in your own words. Beta mixes change; your notes should too.
How to use the sheet
- Hear something that is not your step and not a named teammate.
- Match the row.
- Do the first move before you look for loot.
- If two rows fire at once, you are in overlap. Leave the floor. That is S-tier on the monster tier list.
Cue table
Metal / stair thump — Likely a sound type in vertical space. First move: stop sprinting, finish the landing you already started, then walk back to the last floor. Do not race them to the next landing. See lab monsters.
Door slam that is not yours — Someone or something committed a doorway. First move: camera-peek, do not body-peek. If the door sits on your only exit, you are in a one-door room; mark it optional.
Breath / wet / close vocal — A hunter is in your lighting cell. First move: break line of sight, then go still. Sight types lose a hard corner; sound types lose a quiet room. How to Beat Monsters splits the two.
Rustle that misses your cadence — Forest stalker or another ape in brush. First move: find a landmark. If you cannot name one, walk toward the last facility-colored light, not toward the rustle. forest monsters.
Sudden hush / muffled bed — You entered a ditch, a sealed lab, or weather cover. First move: treat it as a one-door room. Circle or leave. Do not loot the center.
Silence that lasts too long in a busy server — Ambush occupancy. First move: you are being allowed to commit. Peek with camera, then skip the room if you cannot see a second exit.
Crowd sprint, many footsteps — Other players spending their meter. First move: hide and let them pull. Do not “help.” How to Survive.
Cues that are not hunters
- Your own jump landing. Stop jumping.
- Lobby music bleeding through a bad teleport. Rejoin if the mix is wrong.
- A friend on speaker. Mute them.
- Rain from the Forest Update. Shorten the loop; do not ignore rustle inside the rain.
After you guess wrong
Write: cue, guess, actual, space. Four words. The next session uses that line as the constraint. This is how a beta roster gets real without inventing names.
If you want a highlight of every jumpscare, this sheet will bore you. Good. Boring ears live longer than excited ones.
Related: controls if your own inputs are the loudest cue, and Forest Update if the outdoor bed is new to you.
Building your own fifth column
Leave a blank line at the bottom of your notes: date, cue, guess, truth. After five deaths you will have a private table better than any rumored name list. Share it with a stack using space words, not lore words.
If a patch deletes a cue, strike the line. Do not keep a ghost sound that makes you hide from rain. The Forest Update already taught that weather is a bed, not a hunter. Your sheet should learn the same lesson faster than a comment section.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Do I need surround sound?
Stereo headphones are enough to tell left from right. Phone speakers are not.
What if I hear two cues?
Overlap. Leave the floor. Do not pick a favorite row.
Will you add audio files?
Not unless we can record them in this place ID without ripping someone else’s video.
Can cues change after a patch?
Yes. Re-walk a scout run after a title-screen tag and rewrite your notes.
